Boss Rematch — How It Works and Unlocks

How to Unlock Boss Rematch

Complete the main story. Afterwards, the Practice Grounds gains the rematch option: Emma's Hall → ring the bell in the corner → speak to Takamura → select Boss Rematch (gamingpromax). Boss-rematch unlocks and completion also carry into New Game+ (PC Gamer carry list).

Rules and Mechanics

• No consumables — Hozuki heals, talismans and items are banned inside; the fight is pure combat (deflect, Issen, Oni Awakening).
• Difficulty counting — beating a boss on Carnage automatically clears Story and Action for that boss. Prioritize Carnage from the start (Carnage guide).
• Reward weapon synergy — completing Carnage gives a special weapon that makes Rematch noticeably faster.
• Rematch is accessed alongside the Practice Grounds drills, which double as trophy safety nets (trophy guide).

Trophies

• Second Helping — defeat any boss once in Boss Rematch (easy early unlock).
• Glutton for Punishment — complete all Boss Rematch stages on all difficulties (one of only two non-Platinum golds).

Strategy

• Do the arena after your Carnage run — the reward weapon makes the grind far faster.
